Experience
My previous tutoring experience includes tutoring middle school and high school students in the Los Angeles County California area. The supplemental education services company I worked for provided one-on-one in home tutoring service for students in grades K-12th in Los Angeles County. The majority of my students were in middle school or high school. The subjects I have experience tutoring include Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & Algebra II, basic Geometry, and Language Arts (i.e. reading, comprehension, and writing skills). I am also proficient in several college level subjects including graduate level writing APA and MLA styles, research design, quantitative and qualitative research, as well as many psychology subjects. I enjoy helping students to understand concepts they have missed in the classroom that are important to build a good understanding of the topic and successfully complete their course work. As a psychology major I understand the importance of developing good study skills which builds the students self-confidence in their ability to be successful learners. I also possess a current valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Finger Print Clearance Card. For me tutoring is rewarding and meaningful work. Helping students to develop the knowledge and skills that will enable them to achieve their academic goals and have the opportunity to reach their full potential is rewarding for me.
