I believe that each student enters the classroom equipped with a different set of strengths and weaknesses. For this reason, it is necessary for a good teacher to provide a unique learning experience for their students. Though I have taught full classes for most of my career, I have a passion for working one-on-one with my students. This dynamic allows me to better understand my student's learning style, and control the learning pace as I see fit. In the past, my teaching methods have proven effective and, if given the opportunity, I will provide your child with an environment conducive to learning. I have a wide range of teaching experience, as I have taught students of all ages. For many years, I taught kindergarten through twelfth grade students that had special needs. I also spent some time teaching philosophy to college undergraduates through the online program at the University of Phoenix. As a high school teacher, I was also asked to teach in a program that helped to prepare students for a technology-focused career. My bachelor's degree is in elementary education from Northern Illinois University Teachers College. My master's degree is from the same school in curriculum and instruction, where I graduated cum laude. I tutor many subjects, but particularly enjoy language arts and math, as well as test preparation.
